My goal as a farrier is to improve the soundness and health of your horse and allow their hooves to function properly. I am an advocate for the horse in all situations, insistent that horses be kept in a species appropriate manner and are regularly seen by a knowledgeable veterinarian. I use mapping techniques to restore balance, correct distortions, and promote a healthy horse from the ground up.

While recognizing that each limb affects the others and the rest of the body, I treat each hoof as an individual. I understand that there are many factors that influence the soundness of your horse, and I am happy to discuss them with you.

I trim well-behaved standard horses, ponies, donkeys, mules, and minis. I also trim goats, sheep, and pigs, so long as they can be restrained by their owners.

I recommend an environment/management change and hoof boots for protection before other options. Many horses live sound lives in their pasture and only need help on challenging surfaces. In some circumstances, I will apply plastic shoes.

I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.
